Harmony House provides more than just a safe haven for families fleeing domestic violence. It is a home away from home – a place to rest, heal, find friendship and comfort and begin to put lives back together. It’s the people within a house that make it a home and Harmony House is no different. Our volunteers are the very heart and soul of Harmony House. Coming from all walks of life, businesses and church groups, colleges and social organizations, they are the lifeblood of our organization.
Harmony House is blessed to have volunteers that give of their time and talents in many different ways. We have individuals and groups that paint and refurbish shelter rooms, prepare and serve meals in our kitchen, provide game nights and holiday parties for children in shelter, sort donations, provide lawn care, work on special events and so much more.
Our house wouldn’t be a home without the generous acts of kindness given by so many!
Some of the organizations that have shared their time, talent and treasure with us so far in 2015 include:
- AWOL youth group from South Dakota
- Northbridge Church
- Community of Christ Chapel for Peace
- Christ Community Church – Young professionals group
- Church at the Center
- North Point Church
- Metropolitan Bank
- Missouri State Interfaith Club and Service Group
- Graceway Baptist Church
