DESCRIPTION:Join us for a FREE conference sponsored by Abilities First and Missouri State University Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. \nThe Stop the Violence Conference is a community call to action to stop interpersonal violence. Attendees will have a choice of various breakout sessions and two keynote presentations. The Stop the Violence conference is provided by the Family Violence Task Force with coordination support by Missouri State University\, Abilities First\, and the Greene County Family Justice System. This conference can be attended in person or virtually. \n\n\nWe will offer a Zoom feed with closed captioning and ASL interpreting for the sessions located in the PSU theater\, which will include the keynote presentations. SUMMARY:Standing Together: Portraits and Stories of Domestic Abuse
DESCRIPTION:Standing Together is a very special project created in partnership with Harmony House and 7 Billion Ones. This exhibition features inspiring large-scale portrait artwork by artist Randy Bacon focused on individuals whose lives have been touched by domestic violence. The portraits are accompanied by raw personal written stories and a series of short films with participants talking candidly about abuse and the ripple effect it has had on their lives. \nThis beautiful exhibit opens to the public during the First Friday Art Walk on October 1\, 2021.  Produced by Chip and Teresa McGeehan\, the exhibit will be on display through October 31\, 2021.
