Grant to enhance Harmony House Education and Outreach Programs
Verizon Wireless, operator of the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE and 3G networks.
To support victims of domestic violence, HopeLine from Verizon awarded Harmony House of Springfield with a $14,000 grant. The grant will be used to fund communications designed to reach victims of domestic violence and the community at large with information about the shelter and support services offered through Harmony House. Specifically, Harmony House will use the funds to develop a new website and video,as well as to support additional community awareness initiatives.
Harmony House is a Springfield, MO-based non-profit that responds to the critical needs of survivors of domestic violence by providing emergency shelter, supportive services and transitional housing. Verizon is committed to helping the nearly one in four women, one in seven men and more than 3 million children in the United States affected by domestic violence and is doing its part to end this epidemic by collecting no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories and turning them into support for domestic violence organizations nationwide.
