SUMMARY:Benefit Screening at the Alamo
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us as we partner with the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema for a Benefit Screening this Friday night!\n\nA portion of each ticket sold to the Friday\, November 14th 6:30pm showing of Christy\, will go directly to support survivors of domestic violence in our community. Based on a true story\, the film is about world champion boxer Christy Martin and her experiences with abuse\, power and control\, and empowerment. We were honored to welcome the real Christy Martin for a visit and tour of Harmony House a few years ago (pictured with Jared in the graphics attached)!  Please note: The film includes scenes and themes related to domestic and sexual violence. We encourage viewers to step away if needed.\n\nWe’re also proud to share that during the movie previews on Friday\, audiences will see a new Harmony House video short (produced by Index Video Productions\, with funding provided by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks) featuring Tabi’s story – a reminder that every survivor’s voice matters.\n\nTickets are just $15\, and $5 from every ticket will go to Harmony House.\nhttps://drafthouse.com/springfield/event/benefit-screening-christy?cinemaId=2301

The 1993 film\, starring Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio\, presents a detailed look at domestic abuse and the impacts on a family and community in the 1950’s. \nAfter the film\, stay for a private Q&A session with Harmony House Outreach team members as they help analyze and understand the unique dynamics of abuse in the film\, and how these barriers to leaving a relationship still affect individuals today. \nTickets are $40.00 each and includes popcorn and drink\, a special Harmony House gift for all attendees\, and proceeds support the mission of Harmony House.
