In 2026, Harmony House proudly marks 50 years of providing shelter, advocacy, education, and hope to our community. For five decades, we’ve had the honor of standing alongside survivors of domestic violence, responding to immediate needs while working to create lasting healing. This milestone is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and a reaffirmation of our mission: to support survivors and to advance the belief that everyone deserves a life free from abuse.
To launch the year, we’re excited to introduce a commemorative anniversary logo. We had the opportunity to partner with local graduate Chloe Harnar – a student of political science, women & gender studies, and graphic design. Partnering with a graduate whose studies centered on equity and design made this logo and collaboration especially meaningful to our mission. Thank you, Chloe!

Throughout 2026, we’ll be celebrating this historic milestone by reflecting on our journey and looking ahead to the future. We honor the individuals who have trusted us with their stories, and give thanks to the dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters who have helped carry the mission forward. We invite you to celebrate with us, learn with us, and continue standing against domestic violence together.
As we reflect on the impact of the past 50 years and look ahead to the work still to be done, we invite you to listen to the story of a survivor through our debut Shaping Tomorrow film—a powerful reminder of why this work matters and how the future is shaped by courage, resilience, and community support.
Content Warning: Domestic and Sexual Violence
Domestic violence doesn’t discriminate – it can impact teens, college students, adults, and older survivors alike. Our newest Harmony House short film highlights the journey of a college survivor who found strength, bravery, and a path forward. The quotations painted on the glass aren’t just visual elements – they’re real and harmful narratives survivors are often forced to navigate. Messages that question, dismiss, or shame their lived experiences. By bringing these words into the light and washing them away, we’re reclaiming the truth: you deserve to be believed, supported, and surrounded with care. Harmony House is here for you.
There are many forms of domestic violence – abuse through power and control can look different for each survivor. Watch, learn, and share to help raise awareness. Access our free and confidential support services if you need help, or partner with us in creating a safer community.
A special thank you to the individual willing to share her powerful story, the Community Foundation of the Ozarks for their Shaping Tomorrow Grant Program, alongside Index Video Production, for helping bring this story to life.
