Harmony House provides a range of educational programs and workshops to the community, focused on domestic violence awareness and prevention. Our offerings include presentations on red flag behaviors, early warning signs, and how to create safe environments for those impacted by domestic violence. We also offer in-service trainings and professional workshops for law enforcement agencies, healthcare providers, and social service organizations. General Community Education
- Harmony House 101 – overview of who we are, our programs and services, and how to get involved
- DV 101 – what domestic violence is, types of abuse, recognizing the signs and resources that can help
- DV in the Workplace – an overview of domestic violence, how it impacts the workplace, and ways employers and managers can create safer workplaces while supporting employees
- DV for Healthcare workers – same as DV 101, includes discussion on health impacts, recognizing signs, and how to have those conversations with patients
- Bystander Intervention – what intervention is, barriers to intervening, and intervention approaches that anyone can do
- In Her Shoes/In Her Shoes: Economic Justice/In Their Shoes – an interactive experiential simulation that walks participants through real survivor stories to understand what it’s like to live with domestic violence. Economic Justice focuses on the agencies survivors work with to get help and support. In Their Shoes is for teens and young adults and focuses on teen dating violence
- Healthy Relationships – discusses healthy/unhealthy relationships and how to recognize them through a video-based watch and discuss format, for 6th -12th grade
- Healthy Friendships – discusses healthy/unhealthy friendships, how to recognize them through a video-based watch and discuss format, for 3rd -5th grade
- Stalking 101 – an overview of what stalking is, how to recognize it, its impact and prevalence, and resources
- Sexual Violence and Consent 101 – defining and debunking myths about SV, what consent is and isn’t
