Harmony House is a non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of providing shelter, advocacy and education to survivors of domestic violence. This includes the operation of a 168-bed facility that provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and support services to survivors. Harmony House also provides outreach support services and prevention education services. Harmony House, the first domestic violence shelter in Missouri, remains the largest domestic violence shelter in the state. Job Title: Executive Director
JOB SUMMARY: The Harmony House Executive Director is the key management leader, reporting directly to the Harmony House Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible and accountable for leading and managing all areas of Harmony House including administration, programs and services, and strategic planning. This is an active builder role — the ED will lead the organization through intentional growth across programs, funding, geographic reach, and community impact, while upholding the highest standards of client safety, staff wellbeing, and survivor-centered care. JOB SUMMARY: Advocates are responsible for maintaining the Advocate Office (AO) and shelter security. The AO is staffed 24/7. Duties include maintaining the security of shelter, answering phone calls and hotline calls, assisting in crisis intervention and assisting residents with daily needs.
