Harmony House announced in April that Jared Alexander, Executive Director, is transitioning away from his current role.
Jared joined Harmony House in 2019 as the Director of Development, hitting the ground running with the iCare campaign and navigating fundraising efforts through the pandemic, including virtual live events and donor engagement opportunities – resulting in the agency’s first ever $1 million direct fundraising year, in 2021. Since his selection as Executive Director in 2022, Jared has worked to strengthen internal systems and structures to meet the growth demands of the organization including the additions of the Assistant Executive Director and Human Resources roles to support those providing direct services to survivors. Jared has expanded his role into legislative advocacy to build key relationships for Harmony House with local, state and congressional representatives, that have resulted in expansion of services to surrounding counties, and increased funding opportunities for critical programs. Today, Harmony House remains one of the top-of-mind nonprofits in Springfield. In Jared’s time at Harmony House, he has seen 210,073 safe bednights for survivors of domestic violence.
“The Board of Directors wishes to thank Jared for his tremendous contributions and leadership during his tenure. We are grateful for his dedication to Harmony House and for advancing our mission of supporting survivors of domestic violence, while helping keep this critical issue visible in our community. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors!” said Jennifer Henry, Board Chair.
“Our board search committee is actively in the stages of selecting the next Executive Director. An announcement will be made shortly, regarding the next leader of this great organization. Harmony House has a dedicated leadership team that will assist the Board of Directors during the transition,” noted Julie Cummings, Board Search Committee Chair.
A Farewell from Jared
“As I prepare to leave Harmony House for the last time as Executive Director, I want to take moment to say thank you to this incredible community.
I’m so proud of the work of this mission during my time here. Expanding services into new communities; Creating new avenues to reach people through education; Continuing to cultivate a culture of generous giving; Advocating at the highest levels for survivors; Celebrating milestone achievements and supporting a growing team of passionate staff and volunteers. I continue to be in awe of the care and professionalism displayed across this organization. Harmony House is lucky to have each and every one of its amazing team members working so passionately for survivors. Their work is only made possible by this generous community. I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together, and I will continue to be one of Harmony House’s biggest fans well into the future.
THANK YOU for believing in the mission of Harmony House. THANK YOU for believing survivors.”
