Halloween Hustle 2025
Dust off your wands, don your robes, and get ready to run through a spellbinding Halloween tradition — the Halloween Hustle is back, and this year’s theme is Harry Potter! Whether you’re a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, this magical 5/10K and NEW one-mile candy dash is your chance to help make a difference in our community while having a wickedly good time.
Starting and ending at City Utilities’ main office, this relatively flat course winds through historic mid-town Springfield which might just remind you of Diagon Alley. With candy at every corner and fun for kids of all ages, there are no tricks—just treats for our favorite little ghosts, goblins, and now, young witches and wizards.
Costumes Encouraged!
Lace up your sneakers and come dressed in your Halloween best. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes—from flying broomsticks to golden snitches, Hogwarts robes to your best Patronus, we want to see your creativity soar.
Run for a Reason
All proceeds from the Halloween Hustle benefit Harmony House, Springfield’s only domestic violence shelter. Every dollar raised helps provide shelter, safety, and support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children. When you participate in the Halloween Hustle, you’re not just running a race—you’re helping someone find a way out and a way forward.

The Halloween Hustle is a local race presented by City Utilities with 100% of proceeds benefiting a local charity—Harmony House. The race starts and ends at City Utilities’ main office, 301 East Central Street. This relatively flat race route winds through historic mid-town Springfield. Expect no tricks, but lots of treats at the Halloween Hustle—with candy for your little ghosts and goblins on every corner. An event for kids of all ages—runners are encouraged get in the holiday spirit and wear their Halloween costumes. As one of the longest running 5k’s in the Springfield community, this has become a Halloween tradition for many families year after year.
The Halloween Hustle benefits Harmony House—Springfield’s only domestic violence shelter. Every penny raised from the Halloween Hustle will support Harmony House and the work they do every day providing shelter, advocacy, and education to survivors of domestic abuse. When you take part in the Halloween Hustle, you are helping Harmony House provide a safe, warm place for local survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Your involvement gives a survivor a chance to escape abuse and access to resources such as food, clothing, court advocacy, life skills classes and more.
